Your warmest leads just wrapped up their taxes

Right now, while your CPA partners are still buried in returns and your ideal clients are still sitting across from their advisors, the warmest prospect window of the entire year is forming.

Not after April 15. Right now, in these final days before it closes.

Here is what is happening in your prospects’ world this week. They are having the conversation. Sitting across from their CPA, talking through income, assets, what they own and what they owe. And something is getting said out loud.

“We really need to update our trust.” “My mom is getting older and we don’t have a plan for that.” “I keep meaning to get a will done, especially now that we have kids.”

These are not cold leads. These are people having the conversation right now, this week, while you are reading this.

And your CPA referral partners? They are heads down, but they are coming up for air in days. Not weeks. Days.

That means your outreach this week is not just timely, it is perfectly timed. A quick note, a lunch invitation, a simple “thinking of you as the deadline hits” message lands completely differently when it arrives before the exhale instead of after it.

Here is what I want you to do before April 15:

  1. Write the outreach email to your top three CPA referral partners right now and schedule it to send April 16th. Keep it simple, “I know you just came up for air, let’s get lunch in the next few weeks.” They still have payroll taxes wrapping up before the 30th, so give them some breathing room. Draft it today so it lands on purpose, not when you finally remember it a month from now.
  2. Pull your warm prospect list, anyone who has engaged with you in the last 90 days but has not converted, and write one simple follow-up. The timing could not be better.
  3. Put at least one post-tax-season touchpoint on your calendar right now. A coffee, a workshop, a piece of content. Whatever fits. The firms pulling ahead in April and May planned for it before the buzz faded.

The window does not close on April 15. But it does start narrowing the moment everyone exhales and moves on.

You still have time to be the firm that showed up before it closed.

Beating the rush so you don’t have to,
