So… how’s the new year going so far?
If this first full week of the new year already feels a little chaotic, you’re not alone.
January has a funny way of showing up with big expectations… and very real reality.
Everyone comes back with goals, plans, hopes, and “this is the year” energy…
and then the inbox explodes, clients seem to all be extra needy,, and marketing somehow lands back on your plate.
Here’s what I want you to hear this week:
You don’t need to have the whole year figured out right now.
What you do need is clarity around a few simple things:
-
- What’s already working
- What’s missing
- And what would actually move the needle if you focused on it consistently
Most firms make the mistake of trying to start everything in January.
New platforms. New campaigns. New ideas. New pressure.
That’s not strategy. That’s overwhelm with a calendar invite.
The firms that grow this year won’t be the ones doing a million new things.
They’ll be the ones doing the right things… on purpose… with systems that support them instead of draining them.
So here’s your low-lift assignment for the week:
-
- Take 15 minutes and write down the top three things that brought in clients last year.
- Not what you meant to do.
- What actually worked.
That list is your starting point. Not another shiny idea or tool. .
We’ll talk more about follow-up gaps, events that don’t convert, newsletters that don’t sound human, and visibility that actually compounds. But for now… give yourself permission to slow the spin.
Clarity beats hustle. Every time.
We’re right here with you this year.
Laura Lee
P.S. If January already feels heavier than it should, that’s usually a sign your systems need support… not that you need to try harder.
